Uwe Rosenberg

Managing Director of Mician Global Engineering GbR

received the Dipl. Ing. degree (first class honors) in electrical engineering (telecommunication technique) from the Fachhochschule der Deutschen Bundespost, Dieburg, Germany, in 1982.

From 1982 to 1983, he was with Hydro Therm, Dieburg, Germany, where he was involved with the design and development of automatic safety and heating control circuits. From 1983 to 1985, he was with the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany, where he was involved with the design and development of experimental installations and software components for microcomputer control systems. In 1985, he joined the Space Division of ANT Nachrichtentechnik GmbH, (now Tesat-Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG), Backnang, Germany, where he was engaged in research and development on microwave filters, multiplexers, and passive subsystems for communications satellites. From 1989 to 2008 he was head of the Research and Development Laboratory for Passive Microwave Components and Subsystems, Ericsson GmbH (which was until Dec. 2005 Marconi Communications GmbH and formerly Bosch Telecom GmbH, Public Networks Division), Backnang, Germany. During this period he was in charge of research and development of integrated waveguide transceiver circuitry’s, channel branching networks (multiplexers), antenna feed and waveguide (feeder) systems for trunk and access radio applications, mobile base stations, large earth stations, defense and communications satellites. From 2006 to 2008 he was additionally appointed to the manager for the antenna development team.
In 2002 Uwe Rosenberg has started on his own project and consultancy work for international companies with the design of novel passive microwave designs for a variety of applications (earth stations, satellites, mm- wave communications equipment, mobile, defense, etc.) providing design, measurement, production and technology support and advice.

Since 2011 he is MD with Mician Global Engineering GbR which he co-founded the same year together with the partners of Mician GmbH.

He co-authored Waveguide Components for Antenna Feed Systems: Theory and CAD (Norwood, MA; Artech House, 1993). He has also authored or co-authored over 90 technical papers and has originated more than 50 granted microwave design patents.

Mr. Rosenberg is affiliated with the following professional societies:

  • Senior member of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques (IEEE MTT-S) and IEEE Antenna and Propagation Societies (IEEE AP-S)
  • Member of European Microwave Association (EuMA)
  • Member of Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik (VDE), Informationstechnische Gesellschaft (ITG)
  • Member of Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI)

Dr.-Ing. Peter W. Krauss

Managing director and responsible for software and product management

was born in Reisbach, Germany, in 1960. He received the Dipl.-Ing.(FH) degree in electrical engineering from the Hochschule Bremen, Germany, in 1986, the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees, both in electrical engineering, from the University of Bremen, Germany, in 1991 and 1998, respectively. From 1991 to 1995 he was with the Microwave Department, University of Bremen, Germany. His research interests were related to the computer-aided design of passive waveguide components based on the mode-matching method. From 1995 to 1999, he developed in cooperation with Microwave Innovation Group (MIG), Germany, their CAD tool. He was especially involved in the software management and the developing of the important basics of their waveguide simulation software tool. Since 1999, he has only been working with MICIAN GbR, Germany, which he co founded with Jan M. Reiter in 1998. His current work includes the microwave computer-aided (CAD) technology for electromagnetic (EM) simulations and optimizations.

Dr.-Ing. Thomas Sieverding

Managing director and responsible for customer service

was born in Lohne, Germany, in 1959. He received the Dipl.-Ing. and the Dr.-Ing. degrees, both in electrical engineering, from the University of Bremen, Germany, in 1984 and 1990, respectively. From 1985 to 1989, he was engaged in software engineering at BICC Vero Electronics, and OTCE-Consulting, Bremen. From 1987 to 1998, he was with the Microwave Department, University of Bremen, Germany, and from 1991 to 1998, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Bremen. Until end of 1999, he was the Research and Design Manager of Microwave Innovation Group (MIG), which he co founded 1993 together with Prof. Arndt and others. His major contributions included implementation of waveguide components for their commercial waveguide simulation program in cooperation with Peter W. Krauss. He joined MICIAN GbR in March 2000 as associate and managing director. His current work includes CAD program development and microwave circuit design, in particular for satellite components and antenna

networks.
